About us...
England Over 40's Cricket is a voluntary, non-profit making organisation, self-funded by its recreational players to continue to engage cricketers above the age of 40yrs to play in veterans matches and tournaments at an international level, whilst at the same time promoting physical and mental well-being through sport and team sociability. It does so under endorsement from the England and Wales cricket board (ECB).

Inaugural Over 40s ODI for both England & Wales

David Hughes

Head of Performance

David heads our performance team. He has a strong cricketing background playing for many years in the Hertfordshire Premier league and also representing Hertfordshire in National Counties. David was part of our performance team in South Africa for the World Cup in February and relishes the opportunity to develop the squad for its next two major campaigns.

Luke Humphrey

Technical Coach

Luke Humphrey is the Head Coach of the team and is an ECB Level 4, Specialist Coach (Batting and Spin). He is responsible for leading and guiding the team to success. He oversees all aspects of the team's training and development, including setting goals, designing practice sessions, and strategizing for competitions. Luke is known for his strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and inspire the team members. He also plays a key role in recruiting new talent and building a cohesive team environment.

Christopher Mays

Honorary Secretary & Manager

As the Honorary Secretary, Christopher Mays is responsible for the administrative tasks within the team. He ensures that all official documents and records are properly maintained and organized. Christopher also coordinates team meetings, prepares meeting agendas, and takes minutes of the meetings. His attention to detail and strong organizational skills are valuable assets in keeping the team organized and on track.

Steve Naylor

Commercial lead

Steve Naylor is the Commercial Lead of our team. He is responsible for overseeing all commercial activities, including sponsorship, tour operators, and commercial relationships. He collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of commercial initiatives and achieves the team's sponsorship targets. Steve's excellent communication skills and ability to build strong partnerships make him an invaluable asset to our team.

David joins us as Head of Performance, taking over from Luke Humphrey who has moved into a Technical coaching role. David has a strong cricketing background, playing for Hertfordshire and in the Hertfordshire Premier league.
